V Coloris
WOODWIND QUINTET
In the wind quintet V Coloris different cultures and nationalities meet and this inspired them to choose a name referring to richness of colours. They like to challenge themselves in various genres and styles and they make their own arrangements of carefully selected pieces suitable for their thematic concerts. Traditional music and music inspired by folk music make up a major axis in V Coloris’ music making.

Carion Wind Quintet
WOODWIND QUINTET
Our great wind colleagues in this pioneer chamber group have played together for decades and since long been regarded as one of the leading wind quintets in the world. Not only do they play everything by heart they are also strong communicators and inventive in terms of programming.

Danish String Quartet (Members)
FREDERIK ØLAND – Violinist in the world famous string quartet, The Danish String Quartet, Frederik’s violin playing and chamber musicianship are attractions and huge sources of inspiration.
ASBJØRN NØRGAARD – Violist – Asbjørn is somebody whose achievements in a top ensemble as The Danish String Quartet and capacities as a musician and chamber player are things that speak for themselves.

DUEN & Morten Ryelund
DANISH YOUTH ORCHESTRA
Danish National Youth Ensemble – consists of 25 highly skilled string players. The core repertoire of the ensemble is classical music. Since 2004, when DUEN was founded, it has played more than a 100 concerts in Denmark and abroad.
The experienced conductor and artistic leader, Morten Ryelund, energetically inspires the members of the ensemble. The orchestra is popular and has a wide public appeal.

Johanne Louise Schmidt
ACTRESS
Born in the town of Skanderborg next to Aarhus Johanne Louise Schmidt is part of a very talented and highly acclaimed generation of Danish actors who make Danish films and series enjoy such a high reputation these years. A graduate from The Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2009 she has appeared on the major Danish theaters ever since, and she has for years been on contract at The Royal Danish Theater where she had her debut in 2011.

Nina Schlemm
HARP
The Royal Danish Orchestra is far from having any Mrs. Nobody on harp. One of their two string virtuosi is a lady who remembers very clearly the Japan tour she was on with the Berlin Philharmonic and Claudio Abbado, and whose appetite has led her much around in a search for guidance by the foremost harpists and pedagogues.

Jonathan Jakshoej
PERCUSSION
As much as percussion player Jonathan Jakshøj is fascinated by the organism that a symphony orchestra is and by the role as percussionist in such an ensemble his heart also beats for contemporary chamber and solo music.

Audun Breen
TROMBONE
We are lucky to have Principal Trombone in the Oslo Philharmonic with us at Once Upon… Infinity, and he will among other things play a piece for solo trombone by the famous Danish composer Hans Abrahamsen. Before he came to Oslo he has held the positions as Principal Trombone in Kristianssand Symphony Orchestra and Co-Principal Trombone in Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.

Einārs Everss
DOUBLE BASS
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra (DNSO) has recently been enriched with an artistically multifaceted Principal Double Bass player in the young Latvian Einārs Everss who studied in the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno before moving to Copenhagen, DNSO (first as Co-Principal) and The Royal Danish Academy of Music where he entered the Advanced Postgraduate Programme.

Radu Ratoi
ACCORDION
Multiple international prize winner Radu Ratoi’s no. 1 trademark is his facility in playing, something that really strikes you when attending his concerts and playing together with him. It sounds like Radu is born with his accordion, which is by the way one of the less sophisticated and more traditional piano accordions.

Joris de Rijbel
TRUMPET
Belgian trumpet player Joris de Rijbel holds the position as Principal Trumpet in Copenhagen Phil, a position he won in, and before that he was a part of the trumpet section in The Danish National Symphony Orchestra. With his open-minded attitude, his assimilation talent, his recognisable tone and his all so natural musicality he impresses in whatever he does.

Christine Skou
WRITER /PRESENTER
School children may not be aware of it in the moment, but when Chrisine Skou comes by to introduce them to music and instruments they are very privileged and lucky. Christine is an experienced writer of manuscripts for children’s concerts and a charismatic presenter of the same, and she is the author of multiple books for the younger generations.

Theo Herghelegiu
Theater Director
Theo Herghelegiu is a theatre director, playwright, scriptwriter, drama tutor and translator resident in Europe – Romania, Bucharest. She directed over 50 theatre shows and she wrote many plays, some of them being staged, either by her or by other Romanian, or foreign directors.
Theo loves interacting with people and always considered that performative arts are about sharing joy – the joy of togetherness; the joy of discovering that Truth that lasts for maximum 2 seconds…

Gerbrich Meijer
CLARINET
Gerbrich Meijer is an internationally active chamber musician, soloist and orchestral player. Nominee of the Grachtenfestival Award 2022 and recipient of the ‘Special Prize’ at the Carl Nielsen International Competition 2022. Gerbrich made her solo debut with the Royal Concertgebouw Chamberorchestra beginning of this season.
