Gerbrich Meijer

CLARINET

Gerbrich Meijer is an internationally active chamber musician, soloist and orchestral player. Nominee of the Grachtenfestival Award 2022 and recipient of the ‘Special Prize’ at the Carl Nielsen International Competition 2022. Gerbrich made her solo debut with the Royal Concertgebouw Chamberorchestra beginning of this season. She is a recent graduate for the Master of Music degree at the esteemed Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, where she studied with Professor Yehuda Gilad. She is currently studying at the soloist class of The Royal Danish Academy of Music with Johnny Teyssier. Previously, Gerbrich studied with John Kruse at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
 
Gerbrich has won prizes in numerous major competitions, including becoming a Keston Max fellow with the London Symphony Orchestra. Furthermore Gerbrich is the clarinettist and co-founder of the Cottage Ensemble. She has performed with symphony orchestras like the Royal Danish Opera, Danish Radio, London Symphony Orchestra, Noord Nederlands Orkest, Copenhagen Philharmonic and the European Union Youth Orchestra.
