Born in the town of Skanderborg next to Aarhus Johanne Louise Schmidt is part of a very talented and highly acclaimed generation of Danish actors who make Danish films and series enjoy such a high reputation these years. A graduate from The Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2009 she has appeared on the major Danish theaters ever since, and she has for years been on contract at The Royal Danish Theater where she had her debut in 2011.

Johanne was in 2014 acknowledged with the Danish Crown Prince Couple’s “Stardust Prize” which is one of the finest acclaims young Danish artists can achieve, and this award was followed up by the Ove Sprogøe Award (2016) and a Reumert for best starring role 2020.
